May 19, 2009 Election day. Rosanna Gabaldón was elected to serve the Sahuarita Town Council.
May 18, 2009 Rodney Glassman at Special Town Council Meeting Rodney Glassman and his staff will be talking to a special meeting of the Town Council regarding rain water harvesting
May 14, 2009 - First Things First Meeting The South Pima Regional Partnership Council voted to approve for Board review the funding of literacy programs in our community. When the Board meets in June they will review and vote on the program.
May 11, 2009 - Town Council Meeting The council is working on gathering more information on the Detention Center. The Town is asking for an extension for comments, but officially we got to May 15 to make comments on the EA. Also, Mr. Stahle's contact was continued for the next year.

April 28, 2009 - Candidate forum Rancho Resort Clubhouse Thanks to the kind people at Rancho Resort. It was a good forum and I appreciate the opportunity to meet with you.
April 27, 2009 - Town Council Meeting The proposed detention center was the center of much heated discussions. The Town is going to meet with the nation to determine whether there are options for negotiations. I suggest that we write to our federal and state representatives and tell them how we feel about this. I am against the detention center so close to our homes.

April 1, 2009 - Parks and Recreation Meeting Talked about the upcoming Fiesta Sahuarita that will be held in September and Fred Gray spoke to us about the City of Tucson Recreation Programs and facilities.
March 31, 2009 - First Things First Meeting We met and approved the funding for the family support strategy.
March 30, 2009 - USC/PUG Meeting A presentation by the Upper Santa Cruz Providers and Users Group was given.
March 26, 2009 - Bureau of Reclamations Public Hearing Comments on the environmental assessment of the impact of a pipeline were heard by the Bureau.
March 23, 2009 - Town Council Meeting A presentation was made by the Green Valley Assistant Services (GVAS) and a task force was formed on the lighting and sign issues.
March 21, 2009 - Community Food Bank Volunteer Appreciation Lunch There are not enough ways to say thank you to all the volunteers who give their heart and soul to helping the less fortunate in our community. The need is growing and it is up to us as a community to come together and help others.

March 11, 2009 - First Things First Award Ceremony Presented checks and recognition in support of early childhood development.
March 11, 2009 - First Things First Meeting at Pima One Stop Talked about giving $1,900,000 in support of child care in our greater community of south Pima County. This was an important meeting to all of us.
March 10, 2009 - Primary Election Great showing in the election. I did better than some expected and now we head into the General Election.

March 9, 2009 -Town Council Meeting Signs, signs everywhere signs . . . that was the major hot topic. There will be more on this issue so please stay current.
Neighborhood Canvass I have now concluded my neighborhood canvass for the primary election. I am happy to report that I have visited with many of our voters and learned much from listening to their concerns. Special thanks to my son Andres and his friends John and Gloria for being there with me for the longest miles, and to those other volunteers like Barbara, Andrea, Susy and Christopher who really made a difference. I look forward to future visits with the citizens in our community.
March 4, 2009 - Read Dr. Seuss to 2nd Graders at Sahuarita Primary School They were so beautiful! The bright smiling faces of our 2nd graders is an inspiration to me. This is Dr. Seuss week and I was asked to read to these little angels. Also reading were police officers, firefighters and other volunteers. I encourage you to volunteer at our local school, it was an honor and it really lifts your spirits.
March 3, 2009 - Joint Town Council and Parks & Recreation Commission meeting The major item discussed was the expansion of Anamax Park Recreation Center/Pool.
February 24, 2009 - Town Council Meeting It was a full house and the major issue was the five 88 foot high lighted signs for the new commercial area. The Council had questions regarding the impact to the observatories, the total size, the required quantity and impact it will have on our community. I invite all the citizens to get informed, this is one of those issues where your voice matters.
February 20, 2009 - Talk on Water at Pima East Campus Rosanna participated in an interesting talk by Dr. Jennifer McKay. She is a visitor from Australia and talked about water issues; comparing the similarities between Arizona and Australia.
February 18, 2009 - Community Food Bank Advisory Board Meeting The Food Bank really needs your help. Those requesting help increased because of the bad economy and at the same time it is difficult to be as generous when you are not certain of your own future. Please at least give a little, together it adds up to a lot.
February 11, 2009 - Town Parks & Recreation Meeting Rosanna attended the commission meeting.
February 9, 2009 - Town Council Meeting Rosanna attended the Sahuarita Town Council Meeting. The major topics discussed were the JTED (this is vocational training for High School Students) and the City of Tucson/Pima County water study.
February 5, 2009 - Candidate Forum Rosanna participated with the other 6 candidates in a Sahuarita Town Council Candidate Forum sponsored by the Green Valley Firefighters Association & Sahuarita Police Officers Association
February 4, 2009 - 16th Annual Health Fair Rosanna volunteered her time for the Community Food Bank at the Annual Health Fair. During this time she had the opportunity to talk with health professionals and concerned citizens about the need for local medical support.
February 3, 2009 - Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at West Center Rosanna visited with local business owners to listen to their concerns and issues. The Business Expo had over 3000 people attended the event, with over 350 vendors present.
January 30, 2009 - Dean Martin Presentation at Quail Creek Rosanna listened to a presentation by the State Treasurer on the economic outlook of Arizona. Rosanna asked whether he believed that the legislature would do the "right thing" in balancing their budgets. Mr. Martin said that it was too early to tell at this time, but that he was hopeful.
January 27, 2009 - Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce Candidate interviews Rosanna met with our local Chamber of Commerce to discuss the economic issues in our area.
January 26, 2009 - Sahuarita Town Council Meeting Rosanna was in attendance at the Town Council meeting. The major issues discussed was issues related to Rancho Sahuarita.
January 23, 2009 - Arizona Women's Political Caucus in Tucson Rosanna met with State Legislators over breakfast at the Arizona Women's Caucus to discuss the current budget challenges of the State.
January 22, 2009 - Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce Monthly Business Mixer Rosanna met with local businesses at the monthly chamber mixer at the M&I Bank Building.
January 21, 2009 - Green Valley News Open House Rosanna met Dan Shearer, the new editor of the Green Valley News.
January 21, 2009 - La Joya Verde HOA Rosanna spoke with local citizens in La Joya Verde HOA to discuss their concerns and issues related to the Town.
January 20, 2009 - Rancho Abrego HOA Rosanna spoke with local citizens to discuss their concerns and issues related to the Town.
January 16, 2009 - Grand Opening of the Sahuarita Library Rosanna was in attendance to welcome the opening of the temporary Sahuarita Library.
January 12, 2009 - Sahuarita Town Council Meeting Rosanna spoke in support of an underpass at the regular Town Council meeting.
January 8, 2009 - Child & Family Resources 9th Annual Legislative Pre-session Breakfast Rosanna met with State Legislators over breakfast to discuss the current budget challenges of the State.
January 7, 2009 - Town of Sahuarita Parks & Recreation Meeting The Commission sent the names of the two new parks to council.
January 6, 2009 - Anza Trail School Award Presentation Rosanna presented Americanism awards at the Anza Trail School on behalf of the Sahuarita Elks Lodge.
